Indeed’s Chief Economist Svenja Gudell recently shared: “GenAI won't completely take jobs away, but people who know how to use it will take jobs from people who don't.”
The reality is that - for many employees and companies - the idea of bringing in new AI tools raises some alarm bells.
➡ Will this new technology take jobs away from skilled workers?
➡ Will AI compromise the security of our data?
➡ Can AI really produce the quality work we expect from our team?
In conversations I have with senior leaders, it seems that people want to get a better handle on “the AI question” before moving forward. But, good ol’ Moore’s Law shows us that the tech is advancing quicker than our discussions.
So - how do we ever get fully on top of it?
🎯 Figure out your pain point: Have real conversations with your senior leadership team about the fears of AI. Is it about security? Is it about authenticity? Define and get aligned on what exactly is causing the AI-anxiety.
🗓 Do it in phases: No one is recommending, or expecting, that you adopt all the AI tools at once. Identify one or two key processes where AI would increase your business value - while also being a small enough experiment.
👯 Manage that change: As Peter von Stackelberg shared - AI is here to assist, not replace. Make sure your team hears this - that your leadership recognizes that AI is nothing without the people using it.
